Glasgow is blessed with a number of excellent garden centres, all with their own unique local charm and all with a wide range of garden products and services.

Dobbies Braehead

Opening Times: Monday to Friday: 9am to 7pm | Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 6pm

With its very central location in Glasgow, Dobbies Braehead is open from 09:00 - 19:00 on weekdays or 09:00 - 18:00 over weekends.

It stocks a large range of gardening gear, gifts, trees, plants, shrubs as well as a massive range of flowers. Dobbies staff are more than willing to offer their expert advice about a range of gardening subjects.

A number of onsite partners also frequent the premises including Handy Andy Car Wash, Gardens Building Centre and Edinburgh Woollen Mill. Other facilities include a specialised aquatics area, a butcher, and a farm food hall which together with the restaurant, are perfect for a quick bite or a cup of tea after a shopping spree.

Dobbies Braehead is located at 75 Kings Inch Drive, Renfew, just off the M8 motorway.

Rouken Glen Glasgow

Situated in beautiful Rouken Glen Park, this award winning garden centre was the first opened in this area of Glasgow. It has operated for 30 years. The centre is open from 09:00 to 18:00.

Other than garden related equipment, garden furniture, plants, trees and flowers, Rouken Glen also offers excellent gift ideas, a pet care department, an aquatics department, an extensive bird care department in addition to an indoor living section.

The coffee shop has a range of delicious home cooked meals, including breakfast, lunch as well as pastries along with mouth-watering desserts, all of which are made onsite daily.

Rouken Glen also supports the Conservation Foundation's tool trade-in initiative. Customers are encourage to bring any broken garden utensils which will be refurbished. They will then be put to good use at school or community gardens across Scotland. By trading in your broken tools, you will also receive a 20% discount on a replacement purchase.

Rouken Glen Glasgow is situated on Rouken Glen Road, Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock. Take Junction 3 on the M77, then follow the A727 to the entrance of the park. To visit by train, stop at Whitescraig station on the Glasgow/Neilston line. A large number of bus services stop near the park including 38/38A/38C First Glasgow, 395 Henderson's Travel or the 375 Colchri Coach.

Dobbies Milngavie

Address: Boclair Road, Milngavie, Glasgow, G62 6EP

Opening Times: Monday to Friday: 9am to 7pm | Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 6pm

Dobbies operate a second branch in the Glasgow region, found at Milngavie. It is open from 09:00 - 19:00 on weekdays or 09:00 - 18:00 over weekends.

In true Dobbies tradition, this store is filled with all kinds of wonderful products to fulfil a green-fingered gardener's dream!

Dobbies have also formed a partnership with a number of other concerns who have stores onsite. These include Equi-Store, Garden Buildings Centre, Kaleidoscope, PD Stokes Landscape together with Edinburgh Woollen Mill. Other onsite facilities include an aquatics section, a coffee shop, a food hall (home to the freshest products and tasty gourmet foods) as well as a butchery.

To reach Dobbies Milngavie by car, take the A879 off the M8, follow it north eventually taking the Boclair Road exit (B8049) then left at roundabout by the Allander Water River.

Caulders Braidbar

Address: Mearns Road South, Mearnskirk, Newton Mearns, Glasgow, G77 6RS

Opening Times: October to March: Monday to Sunday: 9am to 5pm | April to September: Monday to Sunday: 9am to 6pm

Caulders Braidbar was opened in 2009 at Newton Means. The centre operates according to seasonal hours. It opens from 09:00 - 17:00 (October to March) and 09:00 - 18:00 (April to September).

Situated in the breath taking Scottish countryside, the centre is still very close to Glasgow. It prides itself on providing healthy plants, gardening equipment as well as garden furniture to all its customers. It also has a number of other attractions to draw visitors to the centre. These include the stunning views of Glasgow from Garden House Restaurant, located onsite.

The centre itself is also built around the Gowkstone, thought to have been a meeting place in the 1600's.

Caulders Braidbar has a gift shop, not only stocked with gifts for just about anyone, but also with traditional Scottish food, including oatcakes and black pudding.

Caulders Braidbar is situated on Mearns Road in Meanskirk. It is easily reached from Glasgow by taking the M77 south-west out of city, then taking the A726 off-ramp followed by the Means Road exit.

Oakwood Garden Centre

Address: Killearn, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, G63 9PT

Oakwood is situated in Killearn north-west of Glasgow. It is open from 08:00 - 20:00 every day but is closed on Sundays.

Expect to find a massive range of garden/indoor plants, trees/shrubs along with gardening tools and equipment. The recently revamped centre has a gem of a coffee shop, serving tasty light meals, tea, coffee as well as tremendous cakes. An indoor open fire during winter helps to warm cold hands, hearts or bones!

A well-stocked gift shop is worth a visit as well. It offers a range of excellent products, even for those who do not possess green fingers.

Oakwood is situated a fair way outside Glasgow. Take the A879 off the M8, north out of the city, follow it all the way till a roundabout, turning right onto the A807 then left onto the A81. Follow this road right to the parking area. The closest bus stop can be found at Branziert Road. Simplicity Bus No. 17 or 38 make daily stops although the rest of the 1 mile route to the Oakwood Garden Centre will have to be undertaken by foot.

Anniesland Garden & Pet Supplies

Situated in Crow Road in Glasgow, Anniesland has been in operation for around 20 years. Anniesland prides itself on its service together with attention to detail. They offer expert advice about all garden related matters.

The centre is open Monday/Wednesday to Friday from 10:00-18:00 and weekends from 10:00-17:00. It is closed on Tuesdays. Anniesland pet shop supply a wide range of dog/cat foods, collars, walking leads, coats and beds for your furry friends. The recently opened bird room has a range of seeds, feeders as well as outdoor houses.

Anniesland is situated near three bus stops and the Anniesland rail station. On-street parking is available.
